Lets Talk Swim

With summer around the corner (it has already begun on my little island town in Texas!) I can’t help but drift into thoughts of long beach days and sunset surf sessions. It’s no secret that swimwear is an obsession of mine. I’ve built a lifestyle upon my love for the ocean and surfing, making swimsuits an essential piece of my wardrobe. I know many dread the task of swimsuit shopping and for good reason, I get it…with that said, I think the sweetest memories of the year are often made in swimsuits and finding your go-to’s shouldn’t be so painful. So, in the spirit of long summer days, ocean dips and salty hair - I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite suits that you can comfortably wear all day; from your morning surf to sunset strolls with rosé in hand (and a pup leading the way).

One last thing, before you start your swim search, consider a few of my favorite tips and tricks:

+ Swimwear should be be an extension of your personal style. One of the most important things about swimwear is comfort. Sticking to pieces that are true to your style is key to feeling confident. I gravitate towards simple swimsuits without hardware or ties and mix up colors, textures and patterns. Don’t feel the need to jump into the newest trend in swimwear as quickly as you do in clothing.

+ Two words: Online. Shopping. There is no place like home and that is especially true in the world of shopping for swimwear. Resist the urge to try on swim anywhere other than within the comfort of home.

+ Quality matters. “You get what you pay for” is frequently the case and I can’t stress this enough when it comes to swimwear. It’s hard to believe how pricey a small piece of fabric can be. Let me tell you, there IS a reason. Achieving a beautiful, comfortable and long-lasting suit that fits perfectly is no easy feat and that is what you get in quality swimwear. If it means purchasing two suits for the season rather than ten, it’s worth it. Trust me on this one.

What do you look forward to each summer? What is your favorite ATOLL SWIM style?
